Recclesia Stained Glass was invited to attend this year's Estate Open Day to carry out a demonstration of traditional skills and exhibit our conservation and repair work. Conservator and Studio Manager Kat Walton and Jamie Moore gave talks and hands-on demonstrations to a solid stream of visitors over the Bank Holiday Weekend, explaining how stained glass and leaded lights are made and repaired.
A small working studio was set up on the estate for the long weekend, housed in a small exibition tent along with the stonemasons also working on the estate who demonstrated how stone was cut and carved.
This weekend was the last in a series of stained glass exhibitions and traditional skills demonstrations for the year, which saw us take pop-up workshops to locations including Cambridge University and Chester Cathedral.
