Recclesia has been commissioned to undertake the latest phase of conservation and repair work at Bangor Cathedral alongside conservation architects Donald Insall Associates. Recclesia has completed several phases of work at the Cathedral over the past decade.
As well as repairs to the clerestory windows, Recclesia is also undertaking very complex conservation work to a vandalised lancet of the Clayton and Bell East Window, which suffered catastrophic damage during a break-in earlier in the year.
Alongside the glass work, this latest phase will see the North Aisle masonry repaired and repointed, repairs to leadwork, new safe access into the west tower, and the repair of the intricately carved choir screen.
Recclesia Managing Director Jamie Moore said, "we have a longstanding working relationship with Bangor Diocese and in particular with the Cathedral itself. We have been responsible for numerous phases of specialist glass conservation work here to a dozen or so windows, and we are delighted to have been chosen to work here again."
